8 Pillars of Self-Esteem Part 1 – Confidence

At Sulphur Springs ATA Martial Arts, we teach that self-esteem is the “joy of being myself.”  Numerous studies have shown how martial arts boosts self-esteem in children and adults who train over a long period of time.  As we draw near to the end of our cycle focusing on self-esteem, let us take a look at the 8 pillars of self-esteem and how ATA Martial Arts can help.

1. Confidence

One of the greatest joys in martial arts is when you see a shy, timid child step out and become a leader.  Confidence is the ability to trust yourself and your abilities.  To build confidence, a student must be pushed outside their comfort zone just enough where they can try new things.  Since ATA Martial arts is about self-improvement through the completion of new things, it is a safe, fun way to gain that self-confidence.

believe-in-yourselfTaekwondo at Sulphur Springs ATA Martial Arts uses a belt system that is designed specifically to boost that confidence.  Each step of the journey, students are rewarded with their new rank as they complete progressively more difficult steps along the way.  We free spar with safety gear on a state-of-the-art Zebra brand Tatami mat so students can learn to make contact without fear of injury.

Confident children are less likely to be bullied at school than children with low confidence. Let us help build your child’s confidence!  Click the Free Trial button today and get started or call 903-243-8767.
